Welcome Back Letter

Dear Parents,

I am honored to be a member of the American Community School teaching staff. It is my pleasure to return to ACS this year. For those of you that are new to ACS this year I look forward to meeting you and your daughter/son, and for those who already know me I am also looking forward to seeing you again.

My name is Wafa Ramahi, I am an Elementary Arabic teacher, and I have a Masters in Curriculum and Teaching Methods and have been teaching Arabic at ACS for eight years. I am happy to return for another great year.

It is my hope and goal to introduce Arabic in a way that your child will spark interest in reading, writing, and the oral language. We will read in some manner in every class. Some days I will read out loud to the class, while other days students will read to each other.

I believe that by all of us working together we can make this a very successful year. I consider it of prime importance that you be an active part of your child's education. You are invited to phone me or visit the school any time that you have a question concerning your child's progress.

Education is a partnership between the student, teacher, and parent(s). Success in the classroom and for the teacher can’t occur without the student. I look forward to build the partnership with your child. You on the other hand have raised your child and understand her/him in a way I never will, so if there is anything you would like me to know about your child, now or in the future, I hope you will never hesitate to contact me by note, phone, or e-mail. Thank you for allowing ACS and I the opportunity to teach your child.

I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to be your child's teacher this year, and look forward to meeting each of you.

Sincerely,

Wafa Ramahi
